Name: Central San Citizens Academy
Date: April 5, 2016 - May 10, 2016
Event Description:
Ever wonder what happens to water when it goes down the drain? The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District Citizens Academy will provide a behind-the-scenes look at one of your community?s core services, the wastewater industry. As a participant in the Citizens Academy, you will learn how we use engineering, chemistry and technology to turn waste into worth, by cleaning our community?s water and returning it to our customers as recycled water. You will also be able to tour our treatment plant, laboratory, recycled water fill station, and household hazardous waste collection facility. This FREE six-week course is a rare glimpse into how used water gains new life. Join us for our first-ever semester this spring to find out more about the other side of water! Whether you take an interest in the activities of your local government agencies, aspire to be elected to public office, have considered employment in the wastewater industry, are curious to meet active members of your community, or just want to expand your knowledge? we welcome you to our world. You will also have a chance to provide direct feedback and ideas on how we as an organization can continuously improve. What we do directly benefits and impacts you, and your input is important! Our goal is for you to feel empowered to make a difference in your government through the Academy.
