Name: Relay For Life of San Ramon
Date: May 31, 2014 - June 1, 2014
Event Description:
Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through Relay For Life. Relay For Life is a 24 hour event. Teams camp out onsite and take turns walking the track.  Throughout the day, there is entertainment along with many family activities and opportunities to learn how we can be healthy and be cancer-aware. We begin Relay For Life with a Survivor Lap to celebrate our Survivors and the battle they are fighting or have fought. When it becomes dark, we hold a Luminaria Ceremony to remember people lost to the disease, and again honor our Survivors. We walk throughout the night, our path lit by the Luminaria bags that line the track, decorated in Honor and in Memory of loved-ones. The event inspires Relay participants to take action against a disease that has taken too much.
