Hosting this week's The Bump:
Morgan West to discuss all questions related to and surrounding BIRTH - such as, hospital or home? What IS a midwife? How are they different than my OB? What the heck is water birth about? How will I deal with pain? How do I avoid interventions in a hospital setting? etc.

About Morgan:
Morgan West, LM, CPM is a midwife who has worked with Nova Midwifery since January 2015 and joined as a full-time Licensed Midwife in January 2016. Before becoming a midwife, she earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from Lafayette College. During her time at Lafayette College, she traveled far, studying systems of Maternal and Child Healthcare in England, Switzerland, India, China and South Africa, including a 4-month internship in London at an inpatient care facility for mothers suffering from postpartum depression and psychosis. Her early training as a midwife began in Indonesia, where she observed the workings of a low-resource, high-volume birth center and grew an appreciation for the strength and resilience of women while learning the skills necessary to support them in labor and birth. Upon moving to the Bay Area, she completed a year of training at a birth center in Berkeley before joining the Nova team. She has worked with many pregnant families as a doula, postpartum night doula, placenta encapsulist, and midwife and is dedicated to serving families through holistic midwifery care.
