The US Green Building Council?s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program offers the commercial food service industry a certifiable path towards building sustainable food service facilities. One of the most challenging aspects of LEED is to meet the energy and water efficiency requirements. Fortunately, LEED for Retail has addressed some of these challenges and the doors have been opened for commercial food service. This seminar will discuss how to achieve the LEED water and energy credits for different types of buildings, will provide an update on what?s happening in the industry related to green building and will offer case studies of what some major chains are doing to create greener buildings.
