The half-day conference brings together people in academia, business, government and the general public to engage in a dialog on how social and economic inequalities affect businesses and what can be done about it. The conference has three main sub-events: a plenary panel starting at 1 p.m., five breakout workshops 9 starts at 2:30 p.m.) and a keynote "fireside chat" with the United States Deputy Secretary of Labor, Chris Lu (starts at 4.45 p.m.). There is an opportunity to network after the keynote. The panelists are: Brahm Almadi, a social entrepreneur based in Oakland, Ann Huff Stevens, a labor economist and dean of graduate school of business a UC-Davis and Fr. Tomas Massaro, a theologian, economist, professor and dean of Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University. There are five break-out workshops that enable participants to discuss different types of inequality and how they could be addressed.
