Donate some new or your gently used children's clothing to Wardrobe for Kids. It's their passion to help the homeless and foster youth throughout the entire bay area.
They are struggling and will not be able to help the families, and a lot of the teenagers, unless a miracle happens "now".

**About Nakia Cooper and Wardrobe for Kids **
When Nakia was a girl, her best friend was a foster child. Nakia noticed that her friend's clothing was often old and shaggy, torn and generally in poor condition. She often wondered why her friend had to dress like that. These memories stayed with Nakia into adulthood and were the impetus for her starting Wardrobe For Kids.
Wardrobe For Kids offers five sets of clothing, including underwear and shoes, to foster children. This clothing is usually new, although sometimes gently used. She runs the entire program from her home storing the clothes that have been donated or shopped for by her. Children are referred by their social worker and an appointment is made with Nakia for fitting. A child leaves with clothes for each school day, including underwear and shoes. As a result, foster kids can look like the other kids at school and don't have to suffer the embarrassment of looking neglected. This boosts their self-esteem which helps them feel better about learning.
The program is funded through donations, both money and goods from businesses and individuals.
