The updates include a new minimum wage ($16.90/hr), restrictions on most "stay-or-pay" contracts (AB 692), expanded WARN Act notice requirements, and the introduction of new "Know Your Rights" notices (SB 294) that address immigration and law enforcement rights. 

Speaker Bios:
Ilya Filmus is an employment attorney who represents both employees and businesses in a wide range of workplace matters. With nearly two decades of experience, he has handled complex issues involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, workplace investigations, and employment law compliance. Having worked on both sides of employment disputes, Ilya brings a balanced, practical perspective that helps clients manage risk and achieve effective, real-world solutions.
A cum laude graduate of UC Hastings and magna cum laude graduate of UCLA, Ilya began his legal career at Downey Brand LLP, representing both individuals and publicly traded companies. He later served as General Counsel for a tech company and for a government agency with a $50 million annual budget, where he managed and defended a wide range of employment-related claims, oversaw internal investigations, advised leadership on HR compliance, and developed policies to reduce legal risk.
