Name: Senator Steve Glazer: Telephone Town Hall April 23 at 2pm
Date: April 23, 2020
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Dear Friends:

I am writing to invite you to participate in a Virtual Town Hall on how California’s farm-to-table supply chain is faring under the enormous pressures of the Coronavirus pandemic. We’ll be exploring these issues as dairies are dumping milk and farmers are plowing under crops because restaurant closures have sharply limited their purchases.

This event will be Thursday, April 23, at 2 p.m.

My guests will include representatives of California farmers, farmworkers, the restaurant industry and our local farmers markets.

We will be discussing the challenges our farms and farmworkers face in growing and harvesting crops and getting them to market. We will also discuss ways in which we all can help support them by patronizing restaurants when possible and shopping at our farmers markets, which have adapted to make their markets safe under trying conditions.

You may join this conversation starting at 2 p.m. Thursday by streaming the audio over my website at https://sd07.senate.ca.gov/.

We will also have a limited number of listen-only telephone lines available. Shortly before 2 p.m.. Thursday, call 877-226-8189 and use this access code:  8344387 #

Because of the number of participants, we will be taking only written questions for this conversation. Please submit any questions you may have before or during the call to senator.glazer@senate.ca.gov

You may submit questions whether or not you intend to participate.
