The San Ramon Historic Foundation is proud to announce its annual Sheep Shearing Day, one of the largest community events of the year, attracting over 1,000 visitors to Forest Home Farms Historic Park. This family-friendly event, taking place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM, invites visitors of all ages to step back in time and experience a day on the farm, while learning about the fascinating process of sheep shearing. Watch in awe as expert shearers demonstrate how wool is carefully removed from the sheep, all while skilled sheep dogs keep the flock moving. This exciting demonstration is just one of many activities planned for the day. Visitors can explore the farm, tour the Glass House, watch blacksmithing in action, learn how wool is cleaned and spun, and participate in arts and crafts, along with other hands-on experiences. Sheep Shearing Day is a celebration of San Ramon’s agricultural history and an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a fun-filled day on the oldest homestead in San Ramon, which dates back to the early 1800s. Proceeds from the event will directly support the San Ramon Historic Foundation’s efforts to preserve this unique piece of local history.
