Fun Facts!

Before joining the San Ramon Chamber, I was active with both the Alameda and San Francisco Chambers. When I moved my business from Alameda to San Ramon (with a quick stop in Dublin), I decided it was time to get reconnected. I jumped right in as an Ambassador—and two years later, I was honored to be named Ambassador of the Year.

Not long after that, I was nominated to join the Board, and I gladly accepted. Over the years, I’ve been involved in BRN (Business Referral Networking), served on the Membership and Public Policy Committees, and pitched in wherever I could. Even now, in semi-retirement, I still love following the Chamber community on my socials!
Enjoy these fun facts:

  • As of the 2020s, over 40% of chamber executives in the U.S. are women—and that number continues to grow, especially on the West Coast.
  • California and Washington are home to some of the most active women-led business networks within regional chambers.
  • The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is one of the oldest on the West Coast

  • Founded in 1850, just two years after the Gold Rush began.
  • It helped shape San Francisco's rapid transformation from a port town to a global business hub.
  • Networking Is a Major Superpower

  • According to the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), businesses that join their chamber are seen as 63% more reputable and are more likely to increase visibility through events and referrals.
  • California Has One of the Highest Concentrations of Chambers in the U.S.

  • With over 450 local chambers, California is a powerhouse of civic engagement and small business collaboration—many led by women and multicultural leaders.
