Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group (ITV) was born out of vision and momentum. In 2010, following a landmark conference hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce—“How the Tri-Valley Fits Into a Global Economy”—regional leaders recognized the Tri-Valley’s unique potential to shape the future. After a day of powerful presentations highlighting the region’s innovation assets, Marty Beard, then President of Sybase rallied leaders to transform this momentum into something lasting. By 2011, Innovation Tri-Valley had officially taken root and was led by founding CEO Dale Kaye.
Positioned at the geographic heart of Northern California’s megaregion, the Tri-Valley—comprising Danville, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon—emerged as a thriving ecosystem where business, research, education, and civic leadership intersect. Early in its journey, ITV partnered with the Bay Area Council Economic Institute to publish Tri-Valley Rising reports in 2014 and 2018. These groundbreaking studies defined the Tri-Valley as a region to watch: a place where innovation, economic growth, and exceptional quality of life converge to create one of the most dynamic hubs in the Bay Area.
Building on this foundation, ITV led a visionary community-wide effort in 2020, engaging more than 1,000 stakeholders to co-create the Tri-Valley 2040 Vision Plan, delivered in 2021. This ambitious roadmap captured the aspirations of a region determined to shape a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future.
